A Well-Trained Staff = Success
Using subcontractors can be very cost effective when you start out but eventually
almost all successful cleaning businesses hire cleaning staff.
That's when you will learn what a problem high turn-over is in our business.
But it can also be a great opportunity for you. Cleaning business owners who can train
their people quickly and well -- will not only have a very productive staff and lower labor
costs, they also see employee turn-over drop drastically.
Faster, Cheaper, Better
A well trained cleaner is a least fifty percent faster and much less likely to make
costly mistakes than his inexperienced counterpart. The major cleaning companies have known
for years that the best investment they can make is in training their people. Smaller
companies have been much slower to recognize this fact.
Which is good for you because it gives you a chance to gain a powerful advantage over your
competitors. Many of the people you hire will have limited English or limited work experience
or both. These are exactly the individuals who need the most help in becoming first-rate
cleaners.
Video training is a very effective way to teach janitorial skills. As well as showing how
to do specific jobs, the videos also give many tips your employees would normally learn only
after years of experience. The videos are all presented in a clear and easy-to-understand
manner so that even employees with a weak command of English will understand them.
Hire the Best
Our hiring choices are often limited in the cleaning field but you can make up for
that by hiring the best trainers.... American Training Videos, Inc.

A Couple of Tips About Using Training DVDs
|
Many businesses use ATV videos to show new hires what will be expected of them on the job.
After viewing a video, applicants are asked if they can perform up to the job standards shown
on the video. About one out of five will not want the job they are considering. Using videos to
pre-screen potential employees can save you the high
cost of putting people on the payroll who won't last.
Aproximately one third of the videos ATV sells are in Spanish. Since the 1970s ATV has
translated videos into French, Thai, Portuguese and other languages. If you need to train
people in languages other than English or Spanish but don't want to pay roughly $2,500 to
translate a video, you can use this little trick. Simply turn down the volume while you run
the video and have a bilingual employee interpret the steps. Many cleaning business owners
have found this works very well.
Videos are also a powerful sales tool. They are especially useful if you want to compete
in fields that require high standards in safety, hygiene or specialized cleaning skills. You
can play a video for a potential customer to dramatically demonstrate the high level of training
your staff receives. This is a very effective way to stand out from the competition and help you
close the sale.
|
How Much Do They Cost?
The videos go for $159.97, plus a very modest shipping and handling charge, which reflects both the high quality of their content and their high production values. If you invest in these videos and your employees become 25% faster
(which is a conservative estimate) are 50% less likely to botch a job or injure themselves
and on top of that your employee turn-over rate drops way down then you will quickly recoup
your investment.
There is one item in this group that costs more, the CD version of the training manual.
It goes for $500. That's because it's an editable document which you can convert into your
personal company employee training manual with very little effort. If you had to create a
training manual from scratch it would cost you much more than that so the people at ATV price
it at $500 to reflect its value. The original version of the manual, in binder form, still
costs $159.97.
Their Return Policy
|
You can return any DVD or CD you order within a month and have it replaced by another
product of equal value, however they won't give you your money back. They do it this way because they have had problems with people 'purchasing' videos, copying them and then returning them for a refund. |

Don't have the time to read all our reports on cleaning videos right now?

People have told me they appreciate my reports on ATV's videos. (Click on the
Their Summary and
My Comments buttons below to see what I'm talking about)
- after all, they
cost $159.97 each. No one wants to spend money like that without being sure of what
they're getting.
BUT - they say - I have TOO MUCH information to read in one
sitting. So, I've come up with a solution. Fill out my form
and get a report-a-day on one of ATV's training videos until you've learned about
them all.
