 We're all grown up!

For years it seemed like everybody else, from your Aunt Betty to the neighbor's kid to every other business professional around was getting in on the act with a presence on YouTube, MySpace or similar sites to add power and persuasiveness to their online presence.

Well I'm glad to say that the world of professional cleaners has finally started to catch up. Below you'll find a growing number of sound files and videos and PDFs giving information about the cleaning field.

 Audio files

 Commercial Cleaning

Gary Clipperton of NationalProClean was asked this question, How can I expand my cleaning business? Click the Play button below to hear his answer

 Residential Cleaning

This first audio file is called, How To Fix Your Brag Bite. And, while Debbie Sardone, The Maid Coach, is a residential cleaning service owner this talk is on simple and effective ways to promote your company and is well worth listening to no matter what sort of business you are in.

 Videos

Warning: Many of the videos in this section started out life as segments of news programs - as a result some of them begin with brief commercials.

One of my readers told me about Halo vacuums and their use of ultraviolet light to sterilize carpet as they clean it. Click Here to watch a news program that tests the Halo vacuum claims.

Click Here to sign up for the Free Online Seminar on The Science of Cleaning presented by CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management® magazine. You can read over the information on the page then use the link at the bottom of the article where it says: Click here to register for the Science in Cleaning webinar to register and then view the seminar.

NOTE: you have to fill out everything on the form or it will give you an error message and stop. So, do what I did, and make up a fax number for yourself if you don't have one!

To view the presentations you need:

  • A Windows Media Player - that's what I used and it worked fine
  • Or a Real Player
  • Or you can even listen over the phone while watching on your computer
I used the phone option as well, just to check it out. It worked but you have to call a non toll free number (meaning you pay for the call). And you have to enter the PIN number they give you.

The webinar is over 50 minutes long and has tons of valuable information about the future of professional cleaning.

Click Here to watch about 12 QuickClips from ISSA.com (that's the International Sanitary Supply Association)

ISSA's QuickClips are two to five minute long versions giving the highlights of longer talks from various experts in the cleaning field. They cover a wide range of topics, all of which are worth watching and you're sure to find several of particular interest to you.

These next two videos are from news programs giving local residential cleaning businesses publicity for their involvement with the charity, Cleaning for a Reason.
Click Here to watch the first news program, from West Palm Beach
Click Here to watch the second, this one is from Santa Barbara, California.

 PDFs

You need an Adobe Reader to view PDF files. If you don't have one already you can get a Reader for free at: http://www.adobe.com

Newest PDF: This one is an advertisement for a tele-seminar - for residential cleaning business owners... It does cost money but it's inexpensively priced and all proceeds go to charity. (I don't get paid for putting it up here either, I just like the cleaning related charity it supports and I know you will appreciate the high-quality mentoring style workshop it offers.)

You can even early register for 1/2 of the full price which really is a bargain so give it your kind attention if you want to help your residential cleaning business, aid an important cleaning related charity, and get great mentoring from a highly successful residential cleaning business owner.

Click Here if you want to learn about a real opportunity to imporove your residential cleaning business and to do a good deed! After re-reading the above flyer I realized that to actually join the tele-seminar, much less get the 1/2 off, early-bird price you need to get to a page where you can make the purchase.

So, to learn more (like exactly how much it costs) Click Here to go to the website of The Maid Coach, Debbie Sardone.

Antimicrobial products of all sorts have one big weakness they lead to strains of bacteria that are resistant to them. (See my recent article on MRSA for more information.) But there is one way you can have your antimicrobial properties and keep from developing resistant bacteria too!
